Abstract: In the present work a new cooling technique for asphalt mixture has been presented and investigated analytically. The new cooling technique uses a very thin coating layer that is covering completely asphalt mixture and having low absorptivity and missivity .Effect of different parameters such as absorptivity, incident radiation, ambient temperature, thermal conductivity and thickness of the layer under asphalt mixture on the surface temperature are investigated. It is found that as the thin layer absorptivity decreases and the thermal conductivity of the layer under asphalt mixture increases the surface temperature of asphalt mixture decreases. The range of absorptivity within which is of significant effect is presented. Also, it is found that the sand layer thickness under asphalt mixture in insignificant.
