Abstract: | Ad hoc networks play an important role in mobile radio networks due to its flexibility and low operation cost. Several of key research issues of ad hoc network are on the routing and MAC algorithms. But, only a few of research have been done to investigate the relation between routing techniques and MAC protocols. One question that arises is whether the MAC layer protocols implemented will affect the routing and overall system performances. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol for ad hoc network implemented by using OMNet++ simulation framework. In this paper, we also investigate the effects of various MAC protocols to AODV and the overall system performance. |
