Abstract: Experimental study of cement mixture using sand stone powder is to test the appropriateness of sand stone powder as an alternative for raw materials in cement mixture. The rising cost of construction nowadays is due to increasing price of raw materials used for construction. As an initiative to reduce overall construction cost, this project is to find an alternative for raw materials in construction materials which is cement. This is because cement is the mostly used material in construction. The main objective of this project is to conduct and compare the compressive strength of the new cement mixture which contains 10% sand stone powder adhered to European Standard. This experiment utilized sand stone from waterfall area in Batu Hampar, Yan, Kedah and mixed in ratio of 90% OPC cement and 10% sand stone powder. The mixture processed according to European Standard procedures and finally tested in compression machine. The reading obtained proved that this new mixture capable to fulfill the European standard requirements. In conclusion, this new cement mixture which consists of 90% OPC cement and 10% sand stone powder can be a new potential cement mixture.
