Abstract: Nowadays composites made of fibres are used in many types of industries. But there are problem with poor transmission load and low strength of specimen composite tube. This study investigates the effect of filament winding angles on axial and lateral compression behaviour of flax fibre reinforced epoxy composite produced by the filament winding technique. The five process parameter winding angles studied were 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° and 90°. The fabrication work was done using a filament winding machine with 4-plies layer at different winding angles. In this study, compressive properties and load-displacement curves were obtained for axial and lateral compression testing. From the result, the maximum value compressive strength is 103.35 kN at winding angles 30° for axial compression. And for lateral compression the maximum value of compressive strength is 7.1 kN at winding angles 75°. This finding is due the thickness of the cross section area of specimen that influence stress distribution on the fibres. For conclusion, in this study found that the specimen of flax fibre reinforced epoxy composite winding angles at 30° for axial compression is more strength compared with other winding angles. And for lateral compression the specimen at angles 75° is more strength compared to other angles.
