Abstract: Nowadays, most companies and factories do not realize that the management made a waste of money, time and cost of such inventories, transportation, overprocessing, over-production, waiting time and motion products. So, with the situation prevailing in the company or the factory, they have to try to find a better solution to control the problem from becoming widespread. The same situation happened in SilTerra Sdn Bhd where this company is one of the companies that produce wafers for chips used in which the raw materials come in a shipping cassette must be cut into the form of sheets of wafer while after that the pieces will be put in a pod. Thereafter, the pod containing pieces of the wafer goes through a process based on the pattern that has been set by the customer. The pod usually goes through all area of the fab but the only difference is the number of times the flow through the pod at one area before the complete wafer is produce. But for this company, they are already using new technology where most processes are all controlled by machine and recorded directly into the system. However, when it comes to inventory management is still the problem continues to occur without settlement sought which would make the enactment of "congestion". So one solution that can be done to control the flow of inventory management to ensure pod ran smoothly just make sure to seek improvements to the existing system which will indirectly make an increase in productivity without adding any cost necessary.
