During a machining process, heat is generated at the edge of the cutting tool. This heat is then dissipated through these four systems that make up the process (1) the cutting tool, (2) the workpiece, (3) the chip formed and (4) the cutting fluid. This heat, either generated or dissipated, can be said to determine the efficiency of the machining process. Inappropriate parameter during machining process can increase heat generation. The purpose of this project is to investigate the effect of different milling cutting parameter on heat generate through chip formed during the process that will indirectly indicate how parameter effect tool life. Experiment was carried out to obtain the affect of different parameter on temperature of chip form of S45C medium carbon steel by using Infrared Camera Model Ti 400. The project used various cutting parameter. The experiment found the most influence parameter that effect the temperature on chip form.en_US
