Abstract: | The purpose of this study is to solve the ergonomic issues of handling the sandbag at the waterjet area for Aerospace Composite Malaysia (ACM). The study also adopted some ergonomic tools to assess ergonomic issues omn handling sandbag at the waterjet area. The tools that were used was Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA), Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Risk Control (HIRARC) and Material Handling Assessment Chart (MAC Tool). The problem was then identified and improvement was done by designing a machine to help the operators to handle the manual handling sandbag problem ergonomically thus reducing risk and other health factors. Development of the new design is expected to be implemented the operator to good ergonomic practice in order to avoid manual handling problems, for example musculoskeletal disorders during their shifts. |
