Abstract: The purpose of this study is to solve the ergonomic issues of lifting the fertilizer bag at Fertilizer Manufacturing Company. The study also use some quality tools to define the problem occurred at bagging department regarding lifting the fertilizer bag problem. The information was acquired from the worker by using the Nordic Questionnaire during visiting the company. The tools that were used to evaluate were Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Workplace Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA). The problem was then identified and improvement was done by designing an assistive tool to help the operators to lifting the fertilizer bag problem ergonomically thus reducing risk and other health factors. The assistive tool was design by using CATIA software. Then evaluate the new working method by using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Workplace Ergonomics Risk Factor (WERA) to see the result. Finally, the new design was reduced the risk factor and the new working method are more convenient and ergonomics.
