This main objective of the project is to solve ergonomics issues on manual handling roll materials at Strider Area of Aerospace Composites Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The workers from Strider Area need to handle heavy roll materials which weight from 23 kg to 113 kg everyday based on the usages of the materials. Two main ergonomics risk factors occur during the task are forceful exertion and awkward posture. The analysis of the significant factors was being carried out by questionnaire, symptoms survey, Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and Manual Handling Assessment Chart (MAC). Five conceptual designs were developed and the best and final design concept is selected by Screening and Scoring Methods. Assessments were also carried out for the final design concept and the results of assessments for before and after intervention were compared. The result of RULA after intervention were much lower than the results before intervention, which indicate that the risk of material handling have been reduced. Hence, the three objectives are achieved.en_US
