Study of the oil palm fiber (mesocarp) combustion process in the laboratory scale has been conducted. The purpose of this research was to identify the effect of various combustion air ratio between primary air (PA) and secondary air (SA) to combustion qualities of mesocarp. The ratio of combustion air (PA:SA) were variated at (20:80), (35:65), (50:50), (65:35) and (80:20). The research experimental was conducted using by a fixed bed reactor. The combustion air flow rate is controlled using the anemometer, temperature measured using thermocouple, and gas emission measured using the gas analyzer. Based on the experimental design of the various combustion air ratio known to produce the combustion process of mesocarp with optimal result, the combustion air ratio between primary and secondary air (PA:SA) arranged at ratio 35:65.en_US
