| Abstract: | This final year project describes about the influence of unsymmetrical AC power input to the core loss of a single phase transformer. The unsymmetrical ac voltage is generated using unidirectional (half wave) ac voltage controller circuit. The core loss of transformer is calculated by measuring the input power of open circuit test. As the comparative, the core loss of transformer with pure sinusoidal input voltage from the output of schaffner equipment is compare to the core loss of transformer with unsymmetrical power input. The result shows that the core loss of transformer with unsymmetrical power input is larger than pure sinusoidal input voltage. This condition is caused by the harmonic that was generated by the unidirectional AC voltage controller input. |
