Abstract: This project is to study how to trace active power between generators and loads for transmission open access. The tracing algorithm is based on power flows as given by a load flow solution of the power network. Information about which generator supplies which load and, in what proportion, are obtained from load flow solution. This method proposed a dominion concept. A dominion is a directed graph consisting of one source (generator), sinks (loads) and branches. In branches which are common to two or more dominions, proportionally is used to determine the power flow contribution of each dominion to the common branch. A common is defined as a set of contiguous buses supplied by the same source. This basic mechanism also applies to loads supplied by more than one generator. This project is to develop a MATLAB program that can trace power flow and losses for deregulated transmission system.
