This project is about design, simulation, construction and testing a stereo preamplifier for microphone, tape player and compact disk (CD) player. The preamplifier is the control center of stereo system. The entire components plugged into the preamp, which allows using the preamplifier to select the source that provides the electrical signal that eventually becomes a sound that heard from the speakers. The circuit is designed using discrete transistor to minimize a cost of this stereo preamplifier project. The stereo preamplifier has three inputs that are suitable for tape player, CD player and microphone as an input. This preamplifier may perform with tone control, such as buffering (storing) and boosting the very low signal that comes from turntable, optionally adjusting the balance between the left and right channels of the stereo system, and allowing setting the volume of level. For this circuit, the stereo preamp will be simulated using Pspice software. The preamp featured is very straightforward to make on the PCB. The PCB is made using ORCARD software. This design will be tested on a function generator and harmonic equalizer. The data from the output will be taken then will be analyzed.en_US
