Abstract: In this thesis, U-shaped antenna with meandering technique is proposed for ultra-high frequency band application (470-790 MHz). The proposed antenna is designed on a FR-4 substrate that consists of a U-shaped antenna backed by a partial ground plane. The meandering technique is applied by inserting several slots at the bottom part of the U-shaped for bandwidth enhancement. The radiation pattern confirm that good pattern stability is obtained. The antenna gain of 2.89 dB up to 5.28 dB is acceptable for the operational frequency from 470 MHz to 790 MHz. A good antenna is achieved for both frequencies when comparing the simulation and measurement results.
