Abstract: Aquaponics is a bio integrated system that links recirculating aquaculture with hydroponic vegetable, flower or herb production. The waste from fish will serve as nutrient for plant. Water is reused through biological filtration and recirculation. Nowadays, the main source of generating electricity such as oil, gas, nuclear power is more expensive than ever. Besides the price, the amount of non-renewable resources is decreasing and starting to run out while the demands of the world keep rising. A renewable energy is a good replacement for current energy source. The project objective is to implement the solar power with aquaponic system. The solar panel can be built into the device or be a freestanding structure connected to the pump by wire. In this project, the voltage produce by solar panel will be used to charge the batteries. Batteries will used to power the aquaponic system. Inverter will be used to convert from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) and step up voltage from 12V to 240V AC. On the other hand, Arduino and Raspberry Pi board will be used to control the system. Raspberry Pi will act as brain to Arduino and will control the process decision of Arduino.
