dc.description.abstract | This research proposes the use of existing WSN deployment for design and development of passive motion detection sensor. This project gives further analysis on the effect of signal strength when there is attenuation and the fluctuations of the RSSI value caused by human movement. The additional sensor such as passive infrared (PIR) sensor already in the market nowadays is high energy consumption. In this research, several experiments are conducted to obtain the attenuation on the human stationary effect. It involved several numbers of XM2110/IRIS motes. These entire motes have been programmed by using MoteConfig. The Sniffer is used to get the reading of the RSSI value travel from transmitter to receiver. The result shows that there are significant impacts on the signal strength when there is presence of human with or without movement. Besides, when the antenna height and the number of people occupy in a room is varying, it will totally affect the signal strength. | en_US |
