dc.description.abstract | Reinforced concrete wall panel is a component used in the design and structure of buildings as space dividers or as load bearing walls, especially for application in the Industrilized System (IBS). The use of rubber tyres on the vehicle at this time showed a sharply increase from year to year, eventually contributed to the waste rubber tyres of the vehicle. The objectives of this study to determine the engineering properties based on existing standards and patterns of cracking of reinforced concrete wall panel when a waste rubber tyres replace the sand in concrete mix for IBS components. Percentages of crumb rubber tyres replace sand in the reinforced concrete wall panels are 0 % (control) and 2.5 %. The size reinforced concrete wall panel sample used is 750 mm x 750 mm x 125 mm for testing the compressive strength, cube size of 100 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm used for testing the fire resistance and compressive strength test after being burned. Collectively, the study shows that a mixture of 2.5 % rubber tyres replacing the sand in a reinforced concrete wall panels reached 56 % from 70 % of compressive strength equivalent to 3.0 MPa from 5.4 MPa sample that no replacement with rubber tyres and acceptable. In addition, the difference percentage compressive strength of sample for 2.5 % of rubber tyre was 13 % as 9.33 MPa from 10.84 MPa before the sample is burned. Only a little difference compressive strentgth between the sample before burn. The reinforced concrete wall panels are able to achieve the standards of fire resistance of 1 hour based on ASTM Standard 119. As conclusion, the use of 2.5 % of rubber tires in reinforced concrete wall panels are capable of achieving high standards and enhance its capabilities as reusable after burning to apply in Industrilized Building System(IBS) and reduce the sudden failure of structure by knowing the pattern of cracking that will be happen on reinforced concrete wall panel. | en_US |
