Abstract: The electricity is use by printer will course the output voltage and current waveform distortion. This distortion may consist of harmonic and will affect a power quality in the power system. This project is to investigate the harmonic characteristic from printer due to different types of voltage sources. The types of voltage sources are sine wave, triangle, harmonic 35 and harmonic 59. In this project, the schaffner’s is used to supply a voltage sources to the printer. All output parameters from printer are measure by PM300 and then being transfer to schaffner’s software for easy monitoring and recording. Suitable value of capacitance and inductance for harmonic filter are selected by calculations. By result from calculation, harmonic filter is design by using MATLAB/Simulink software to overcome this problem in order to reduce harmonic and improve power quality.
