dc.description.abstract | Soil classification very important because of it can classify soil based on their characteristic. There are many type of soil classification has been used based on the engineering. Several example of soil classification system using the physical characteristic are USCS and AASHTO. Thus, each classification systems have their own group to classify soil based on the uses. The purpose of this study is to make comparison between two main classification systems by using soil sample in Perlis. Furthermore, the factor of affecting the group such as liquid limit and plastic limit will be known after running several laboratory tests. The standard to determine the group of the soil has been used by using the standard table. The standard table will guide the process of classifying soil after get the result from the laboratory experiment. Based on the results, the group of soil have been made by using both methods and the comparison can be made in order to get the best method of soil classification. Thus, standard classification is very important to classify soil according to their engineering properties and helps in choosing the appropriate necessary improvement methods before any construction or development done. | en_US |
