Abstract: To fulfill the project requirement for the fifth and six semester, a standard report was produces according to standardize documentation this documentation is written to help student to understand the requirement and assessment of project performance according to expected criteria the title of the project is ‘Simulation and Analysis of Electric Field Strength at Ground Level as Basis for Lightning Hazard Warning’. The objectives of this project are to study the electric strength that developed by the charges from thunderclouds, to design and analyze the electric field strength at ground level as a basis of lightning hazard by using Quickfield software, and to simulate the electric field strength of the objects and define which part of objects have more electric field strength at ground level by using the Quickfield software. The research methodology has been carried out to fulfill the objectives of the Final Year Project, which include the method of data collection such as the documents study, case studies, and simulation, by Quickfield software. The methodology process is start with the literature review, design object by using QuickField software, simulation, and analysis. Finally, conclude the analysis. It ends in a research report. There are four objects in the ground are examples of simulation and analysis were reviewed to determine the probability of each object will be struck by lightning. The four objects are high-rise building, small building, tree, and factory. In this project, simulation of these objects is to use the Quickfield’s software. There are three simulations have been done in this project, which is at the same height but different distances, different heights but the same distance, and compare the voltage for each objects. The result show that the potential of the building is represented by thin lines. So that, the potential of voltage is very high at near the corner to the object. The surface on the ground being zero.
