Abstract: In organizational development, process improvement is a series of actions taken to identify, analyze and improve existing processes within an organization to meet new goals and objectives. Therefore, implementation of 5S is a must for a safer and healthier working environment within company. 5S is a combination of 5 items which are sort, sort in order, shine, standardizing and self-discipline. By implementation of 5S, a well organized workplace will take birth which motivates people, both on the shop floor as well as other; 5S improves safety, work efficiency, improves productivity and establishes a sense of ownership. The main purpose of the project is to reduce non value added time taken to do things around company and boost up the performance of worker with providing a safer working environment. 5S together with Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach makes it easier to identify the problems such as non- sorted tools which consume time for workers to find the correct tool, hazard due to lack of visual indication which bring workers closer to a harmful working environment and proper rules and regulation which have not been understood and enforced. Therefore, these problems are studied and solved by implementation of 5S. 5S philosophy itself focuses on effective work place organization and simplification of the work environment while improving quality and safety Thus, improvements are done to ensure a systematic work approach and safety working environment for workers.
