Abstract: This paper presents the results of investigations carried out to determine the feasibility of using optical fibers to produce particle size information of hydraulic processes. The results have been obtained using a static rig and a conveyor to feed the particles at a constant rate. The paper then looks at the possibility of using the system to provide a tomographic image of the measurement section of the process.
