A new direct detection technique is proposed for optical code multiple accesses using Double Weight code. In optical system the detection process affect design transmitter and receiver. The Multiple Access Interference (MAI) is one of the limitations in OCDMA system which is due to multiple simultaneous users The Multiple Access Interference (MAI) can be reduced by subtraction techniques at the detection system. The most common subtraction technique is complementary techniques. The purpose of this new approach is to reduce the receiver complexity and increased system performance. A simulator was used to study the performance of this new subtraction technique and compared with AND subtraction technique. The simulation results have proved that the new proposed direct detection technique provide a better performance than the AND subtraction technique.en_US
