Abstract: As nanotechnology and nanomarterials are gaining wide acceptances, diatomite is one of the attractive materials that can be engineered to form different nanostructures for numerous applications. Thus, careful examination of fossil diatoms requires use of scanning electron microscope (SEM). Diatomite shows immense numbers of many different species of fossil diatoms. SEM images show small diameter particles and ultrafine diatomite powers that have many technological applications such as filtration. UV–vis spectra are used to analyze the physical chemistry properties of the resulting diatomite that have many technological applications, as build hierarchical porous materials. Here we study the diatomite and its applications widely.
