The 2nd International Malaysia-Ireland Joint Symposium on Engineering, Science and Business 2012 (IMiEJS2012) jointly organized by Universiti Malaysia Perlis and Athlone Institute of Technology in collaboration with The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia, Education Malaysia and Malaysia Postgraduates Student Association Ireland (MyPSI), 18th - 19th June 2012 at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.en_US
The current study proposes a novel approach for satellite attitude control simulator design where the simulator consists of both software and hardware. A software simulator will represent the satellite dynamic model, incorporating all the operating conditions of the satellite in orbit, together with all the necessary GUIs. The actuator, ADS and the attitude controller will be implemented on the actual controller boards that will at the end be placed on the Innovative Satellite (InnoSAT). The hardware simulator will be interfaced to control the satellite software simulator. The hardware simulator will include all the necessary interfaces and communication channels to other parts of InnoSAT. The controller that will be used is the Adaptive Neuro_Controller (ANC) which is based on Hybrid Multi Layered Perceptron (HMLP) network. A microcontroller unit (MCU) Rabbit Core Module RCM4100 will be used as a hardware simulator for implementation of attitude control algorithm. Meanwhile, MATLAB programming in a standard PC will be used as software simulator for simulating satellite dynamics. The satellite attitude control simulator gives a satisfactory performance in the real time environmenten_US
