dc.description.abstractSolar energy is known as free, unlimited, efficient and reliable energy source. The solar energy is seen as a potential energy to replace the current growing electricity demand. Before this shortfall can be solved, understanding about the solar system is necessary. Hence, this paper intends to discuss about the development of hybrid educational training kit using solar and grid connection. The hybrid educational training kit is integrated with programmable integrated circuit to control the switching between the grid network and solar system. The grid network will be turned on if the energy supplied from the storage is insufficient while it is operating. Also, a temperature monitoring system is integrated to monitor the system temperature and prevent the system from overheating. Development of this hybrid educational training kit using solar and grid connection is to expose the students about the principle of energy harvesting, method of operation, measuring the voltage and current practically.en_US
