Abstract: In globalization era, demand on communication getting increased. The communication technology have given benefit on the rapidity of economy, medical, education, defensive, welfare, entertainment and information exchange. The technology on spread the television signal has made it obtain up to several ten kilometers. The suitable kind of antenna is considered of so that the signal that spread by the service provider can display on the television set. In Malaysia, there are two gigantic broadcasting companies. There are RTM and Media Prima which supplying six free-to-air channel. All the channels work on ultra-high frequency (UHF) and very-high frequency (VHF) spectrum. In this project, the target is focus on UHF frequency. Planar antenna is a revolution that compete the conventional antenna. Smaller in size is the major factor on it for easy storage beside low cost. UHF TV antenna for an array receiver is a project of designing antenna using Microwave Office (MWO). FR-4 board was used and the analysis is done using simulation method from MWO software and test equipment. Design of the antenna could receive TV signal according to the criteria that shown on the simulation. Planar antenna is new revolution that could compete with ordinary antenna.
