dc.description.abstractThis paper present the implementation of Double Mutation – Artificial Immune System (DM-AIS) in solving the economic dispatch (ED) problem with transmission losses by minimizes the fuel cost and also controls the generator limit. ED determines the electrical power to be generated by the committed generating units in a power system so that the generation cost is minimized, while satisfying the load demand simultaneously. The developed DM-AIS optimization technique use the total generation cost as the objective function. The test system that is used for this project is a IEEE 26 bus system and the program is developed using Matlab software to show the effectiveness of DM-AIS optimization technique compared to conventional method.en_US
