Abstract: Nowadays, Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) still using the conventional technique in its structure such as; “Single-In Single-Out” (SISO) technique, “Single-In Multiple-Out” (SIMO) technique, and “Multiple-In Single-Out” (MISO) technique. This main objective of this project is to develop and analyze the ability of “Multiple-In Multiple-Out” (MIMO) technique on how it could improve the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) in term of Channel Capacity. MIMO technique is quite different from other conventional techniques in developing the WCDMA system because MIMO technique is more complex where more than one antenna is used at both side of transmitters and the receivers. The use of MIMO technique is expected to improve the WCDMA system especially boost up the channel capacity, speed, immune to interference as well as minimize the use of bandwidth as the conventional techniques does and minimize the power consumption. On the other hand, MIMO technique is also expected to improve the current “Third Generation” (3G) technology to the advance “Fourth Generation” (4G) technology.
