Abstract: This research was mainly on the development of cement board containing polymeric materials for building application The application of cement board containing polymeric material has not been commercial yet. The important to develop and commercial this project is to produce the lightweight of cement board and for non-load bearing used. Besides that, also want to make the innovation of the recent cement board. Polymer that been used is polystyrene which is PS Beads types. The characteristics of PS Beads make it ideal for use as lightweight filler, insulation, as a lightweight filling material in application as a construction material. PS Beads with different ratio are been used in this research to compare the different strength and endurance. The ratio is 0.5 and 1 by using a size 3.35mm of PS Beads. In this research also, fly ash are been used as addictive to reduce the amount of Portland cement. Most importantly replacing or reduce the amount of cement with fly ash can reduces Green House Gas (GHG) emissions such as carbon dioxide. Furthermore for compressed strength test in this research were using a standard mould size 100 mm x 40 mm x 40 mm. Other than that, for mould size 50 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm was used to obtain the density data. For moisture content data were using 160 mm x 40 mm x 40 mm size of mould which is this mould are based on the cement mortar standard for moisture content. Different characteristics proportion of ratio has been used to test the different strength of the sample. There are two groups of samples in this research which is group A and group B. Based on the result, for compressive strength test shows that sample 4 has obtained the highest value which is the best sample for both of the two groups. For moisture content test results shows that sample 1 is the best result also among of the two groups. As well as for density test result shows that sample 4 get the best value. For conclusion, based on the result shows that both these groups have achieved the required objectives.
