Abstract: Sugar technology is an infinity improvement technology which it always needed improvement for future growth. That have a lot of inconsistent factors or noises influence its manufacturing process and the productivity of sugar production. As in a sugar manufacturing plant in Chuping, Perlis, a process improvement study had conducted with applies engineering theoretical knowledge into practice. This study was successfully accomplished through the Design of Experiment (DoE) approach. The area which this study concerned is the Boiling and Crystallization process in the refined sugar manufacturing process. The overview of this study is explained in Chapter 1. Subsequently, the literature of this study where history of the sugar, the manufacturing process of refined process, and some technologies used in production of sugar are outlined and presented in Chapter 2. Besides that, the analysis tools that DoE and ANOVA analysis are briefed in this chapter as well. The general overview of methodology for this study is explained in Chapter 3 and subsequently explanation the detail of the study conduction in Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is the main part body in this study. In this chapter, the study conduction is presented in detail that the identification of the problem and recording of the data. The engineering analyses that DoE and ANOVA approaches are applied as the results of this study are discussed at the end of this chapter. The possible improvements toward the refined sugar production in boiling and crystallization and the recommendations to this study are proposed in Chapter 5. The chapter 6 that the final part of this study presented the commercialization of this study and concluded the whole study. The continuous improvements and support from all lever of employee are required for establish a productive production line and for the future growth.
