Abstract: | In this study, waste tires and clay were used as raw materials incorporating in mortar. Standard cement-sand mortar were prepared and waste tires (crumb rubber) was replaced the sand by absolute volume method with 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%. The used of crumb rubber with maximum particles size 3.5 mm was made the mortar in acceptable workability. The dry density and compressive strength were reduced when the percentage of crumb rubber were increased. The minimum values of dry density and compressive strength of modified mortar with crumb rubber are 1.2 g/m3 and 4 N/m2 respectively. However, when the percentage of crumb rubber was increased, the amount of water absorption also increases up to 5.8%. Some relation between density and water absorption was determined. In producing of Crumb Rubber Mortar Porous Paver (CRMPP), the average maximum load was achieved up to 7500 kgf, which is equivalence to compressive strength 3.3 N/mm2. |
