Abstract: This project investigates the methods to identify and further analyze the capability of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) in detecting the damage and undamaged of material structure. The Modal Analysis methods used to determine early detection of structural steel damage. The damaged and undamaged of structural steel are used to correlate between the wave transmissibility. In this experiment, the steel plates with the different thickness are used as the specimens and LMS Test Xpress software is utilized to analyze the signal capture. Impact hammer and LMS SCADAS Mobile will be use as Data Acquisition system in this experiment. The result of the experiment indicates that the changes in dynamic characteristics such as natural frequencies are capable to distinguish the undamaged and damaged of structural steel plate.
