Abstract: | By considering about the environmental factors, many of research have been made to find the alternatives rather than uses widely CFC in a cooling system. Previous studies have proven that the advantages of sound can be utilized to develop a system for this intention. The thermoacoustic technology is more environmental friendly uses a noble gas, Helium as a working fluid and there is no mechanical moving parts hence it promised better results. The loudspeaker employs sustain a standing wave in a resonance tube for compression and expansion of particle gas to generate heat transport which occur in the ‘heart’ of thermoacoustic called as stack. The two exchangers are installed in both end of stack. In this research, a preliminary thermoacoustic desktop will be design based on past research made by M.E.H Tijani and Dr Normah Mohd Ghazali. This thesis completely includes all of theoretical and numerical studies for design and fabrication to operate at the optimum operating conditions. The stack of circular pores geometry from straw is used to replace parallel-plate or pin arrays stack which is more preferable. |
