Abstract: This case study is done in one of the automotive industry in Malaysia. It took place at the Logistic Department. Current layout design and manpower distribution is improved to reduce the gap between Cycle Time and plan manpower quantity and to match the Cycle Time with actual allocated manpower quantity with the help of new layout design. The improvement is done by collecting data at the selected automotive industry and followed by series of analysis. The warehouse layout is done to improve the production layout using AutoCAD 2005 and Microsoft Excel 2007 software. The data based on new layout is computed by Cycle Time equation to determine the cycle time, total needed manpower and manpower efficiency. The result of calculation is analyzed and improvement process is done to achieve objectives. The result of improvement is presented by graph of manpower efficiency that shows comparison before and after improvement for each section. Section involved is CKD, Hako (CKD) and Local area. At the end of this case study, new layout is designed at CKD area, manpower efficiency is increased and manpower quantity is reduced.
