International Postgraduate Conference On Engineering (IPCE 2010), 16th - 17th October 2010 organized by Centre for Graduate Studies, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) at School of Mechatronic Engineering, Pauh Putra Campus, Perlis, Malaysia.en_US
In Malaysia, food sector is one of the mostly developed industries that promise a good value of profit. Therefore, the quality of food must be controlled to prevent the food from being contaminated and same as other industries when involved with liquid. Product contamination which caused by bacteria can affect the quality and company’s reputation. Therefore, the bacteria growth monitoring system which consists of fast response and high reliability is important in helping the industrial to control process. In this study, a method of bacteria growth monitoring system using ultrasonic sensor has been developed based on measuring the frequency and impedance of liquid medium. The dielectric properties in the bacteria culture change according to the bacteria growth. For monitoring purpose, the transducer used LED in showing the growth of the bacteria.en_US
