Abstract: Blends of virgin and recycled polypropylene with chloroprene rubber have been prepared to compare the effect of blend ratio on mechanical properties and morphology of both virgin and recycled materials. The results showed that tensile strength and Young’s modulus were decreased in increasing of blend ratio for both virgin and recycled blends. However the elongation at break was increased. It was found that PP/CR blend have better properties than RPP/CR blend. The SEM micrograph of the tensile fractured surface of PP/CR blend indicates that a higher energy is needed to failure compared to RPP/CR blend.
