dc.description.abstractThe medical field at present is an example for appropriate innovation in the information technology sector where it can bring benefits to physicians and patients and also the medical tools to prevent disease. Among the examples of innovation in information technology are in the field of medical imaging technology, laser technology, nanotechnology and others. As we know, medical imaging technology is very important because it can help medical experts in conducting research on patients. A medical image is known as DICOM. DICOM format is unique, it is not only contain the image of the patient, but it also contains information related to the patient. This paper will show the development of software to retrieve the information from the digital X-ray image (DICOM) by using tag-info method. This software is then tested with a number of patient data and results showed that the software is able to find the information contained in the patient X-ray images accurately.en_US
