In this paper, a dipole antenna operating at 900 MHz is simulated to examine the most suitable simple geometrical head phantoms for specific absorption rate (SAR) simulations and measurements. The numerical analysis was performed using finite integration in time domain technique (FIT). Illumination of a frontal dipole source representing mobile communications equipment (MCE) held in front of the face. The study concentrates on the elliptical cylinder, cylinder, brick and sphere shape. For the comparison, simulations of simple geometrical head phantoms with nose added and SAM (Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin) head phantom have been conducted.en_US
