Abstract: The objective for this project is to study the performance of heat exchanger in parallel flow and counter flow. This experiment using three different temperature of water like cold, hot and normal temperature. The governing equation we derive based on conservation energy principal and solved by using finite element method (FEM). And additionally I was using MATlab software to solve for ten elements. Based on this project, the direction of flow also can affect the temperature different at each pipe. Counter flow more effective than parallel flow. In this experiment, found that triple tube heat exchanger also more effective than double tube
