Abstract: The development of renewable energy is increasing worldwide because of the growing demand on energy, high oil prices, and concerns of environmental impacts. Solar energy is amongst the highest development of renewable energy sources. The basic concept for Photovoltaic (PV) module is to collect solar energy in space and transfer it for distribution as electrical power. In any PV based system, the inverter is a critical component responsible for the control of electricity flow between the modules, battery and loads. Inverters are essentially DC-AC converters that converts direct current (DC) input into alternating current (AC) output. This paper details the characteristics of photovoltaic and inverter in order to design the solar system inverter.
