In this study , two GPU accelerated schemes namely Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) and Stream Function- Vorticity (SFV) formulation using classical CFD for flow over a flat plate are investigated and compared . The comparisons are based on CPU/GPU solver runtime and speedup and GPU type of arrays used . On study found that although the runtime for SFV formulation is less than LBM but the potential for LBM speedup using GPUs is better . In addition , a performance sensitivity is done to investigate for different GPU type of arrays as a considerable parameter .en_US
