Abstract: This paper presented a laboratory-sized cyclone separator to investigate the operation of a cyclone as compared to the flow simulation. It was found that the pressure and velocity measured and simulated are closely related with acceptable small error. The simulation of the 2D2D cyclone testbed design was found to have a flow shortcut. Thus, this paper provide a ground support for flow simulation as the pre-design tool of a cyclone separator.
