Abstract: Car reverse sensor with distance display is a design to improve driver awareness in maneuvering reversed gear. The design also helps deaf person to benefit from today technology. The distance displays fast enough to give alert to driver and allow drivers to make quick judgment by the help of distance displayed. The design consist 3 main part; transmitter, receiver and microcontroller. Circuit design is minimize to keep things look simple and hassle-free. The reverse sensor will be functional when driver put on reverse gear. At time driver put in reverse gear, ultrasonic transmitter has sent the frequency. When the range larger than 1m the LCD displays “Safe”. When car within range 1.0 meter to 0.6 meter the LCD will display “Caution”, the range displayed and buzzer start sounds. When range between 0.6 meter to 0.3 meter, LCD displays range, LCD red backlight turned on, buzzer sounds faster and LCD displays “Cautions”. In the range 0.3 meter to 0.2 meter, buzzer sounds continuously, LCD red backlight start blinking and LCD displays “Caution, too near”. The Car reverse sensor turn off when driver disengaged the reverse gear.
