Abstract: Injection molding is the process of forcing melted plastic into a mold cavity. This project was to design and build an acrylic mold, which can help to improve student’s practically understanding based on injection molding suitable with the project titled “Design and Development of Injection Molding for Teaching Purpose”. The design that has been produce is based on literature studies which had been done for existing mold that available in industry and the material used for fabricating it also converted to acrylic material to reduce the manufacturing cost and using it for teaching purpose. Design process for product (keychain) is used SolidWorks software. Analysis conducted on that product is based on “Moldflow Plastic Insight (MPI)” software. By using SolidWorks software, design for complete mold which consists all the standard part and components also done. Fabricate process for prototype (mold) done by using some of the machining process.
