Abstract: The usage of infrared waves nowadays is widely used and it develops very fast. The characteristic of the infrared waves cause a lot of consumer creates many type of application for human usage. Many kind of technology and application including the usage of robotic system are widely develops. The usage of robot in daily life nowadays is very important. Thus, it become as one of the necessity that must be used, especially in factory or other fields such as military, or as a usage at home and toys. The objective of this research is to study basic transmitter and receiver circuit using infrared signal in robotic system. One basic circuit to detect an obstacle in front of the robot was being developed. The signal was transmitted by infrared diode from infrared transmitter circuit and it was received by infrared signal receiver through reflection using infrared diode as a transmitter and signal receiver. When infrared signal receiver receives the signals, the robot changed the direction or stop until there was no signal of the obstacles. The results obtained shows that circuit was suitable to be used in the robot part as transmitter and receiver signal application.
