Abstract: Water as one of the natural resources is very important for every living. Human need water for drinking, irrigations, agriculture, industrial, transportation, recreation and so on. A study was conducted to assess water quality at Sungai Perlis. The main objective of this study is to built a mapping status for river water quality based on DOE-WQI by identify the water quality, level of pollution and pollution sources that would lead to pollution in the area. Study was carried out on water quality parameters of comprising Biochemical Oxygen Dissolved (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Dissolved (COD), pH value, Suspended Solid (SS), Ammoniacal Nitrogen (AN) And Dissolved Oxygen (DO). The results obtained would be compared to standards specified by Water Quality Index and turned into the information on the map that can understandable and usable by public. From the analysis and lab test, Sungai Perlis is at the moderate level of pollution. The classification of water quality at Sungai Perlis in range of Class III.
