Abstract: Fiber reinforced carbon (FRC) and Fiber reinforced glass (FRG) composite materials are seen to be heavily used in the aerospace industry due to its excellence mechanical properties at low density. The research presents mechanical properties and the fatigue strength of FRC and FRG composite materials under series of fatigue testing in accordance to the standard used using 100kN servo-hydraulic fatigue machine. According to the experimental analysis, FRC has better tensile strength than the FRG composite materials with about 37% difference in strength. In addition, the fatigue results shows that FRC composite materials has better fatigue resistance than FRG composite materials in low and high cycles. The difference in the static and fatigue strength for the both composite materials is verified using the crack propagations approach in terms of voidage content or quality of defects.
