Abstract: In the realm of E-manufacturing, the job tool movements should be precisely controlled which normally involve the directions East-West and South-North. Whereas the robot applications often involve either obstacle detection or target chasing as opposite tasks. Research shows that the application of electronics and advanced software will drive innovation to manufacturing process. Since the sensor based instrumentation will be utilized for the above tasks, the accuracy in tele-control required during data communication calls for bit-error detection and correction. A class of error is known as asymmetric error, wherein the bit can change from either 0  1 or 1  0. In this context, a balanced code shall help maintain data integrity. Optical communication channel is a well-known asymmetric channel in which only 1 to 0 errors can occur since a photon can vanish but can never be created. A SEC-DED code is capable of correcting one random error and one erasure. When the problem is more specific on asymmetric error control, the coding complexity is simple and fast helping the real-time processes towards a good productivity.
