Abstract: This paper an attempt has been made to monitor and analyze the harmonic distortions caused by certain typical non linear loads of an educational institution. The current and voltage harmonic distortion at PCC feeding office load and laboratory load was monitored and analyzed. To monitor the load performance, a power monitoring equipment had been installed at the office and lab PCC. The results showed that the harmonic current was significant and has potential to create problems to distribution system. The total harmonic distortions caused by these loads exceeded the standard limit of THD more than 20%.
